Important announcement for AMB customers Thursday, 09 August 2007

Please find an important technical update from the manufacturer’s AMB regarding some damage found on some transponders and the probable cause.

It has come to our attention that some customers are using aggressive detergents, high pressure hoses and sometimes even submersion in an effort to clean their transponders after usage. This technique will result in degradation of the transponder’s electronics and the compound that is used to seal the housing and should be discontinued immediately. Damage caused by this technique will not be covered by the AMB warranty.

Please check the photos below to see what aggressive detergents may do to your transponders.

AMB transponders are designed to perform at an extremely high level in the normal motor sport environment. However, they are still susceptible to damage when handled improperly. It is recommended that transponders be gently washed with clean tap water, and be allowed to fully dry before charging is attempted.

If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please contact your local AMB office. Contact information can be found at http://support.amb-it.com/.
