To help combat the credit crunch and to encourage more riders to take up some road race training, the ACU has reduced the Insurance Permit fee for Road Racing Clubs wishing to run ‘on bike’ training days.
Public liability insurance is a requirement for all ‘on bike’ training days. Historically, a per capita charge of £7.50 and a Training Permit fee of £75 made such days prohibitively expensive so few Clubs ran them.
However, in an effort to encourage more Road Race Clubs to run training days, the ACU has stepped in and reduced the Permit fee to £10. Encouraging people into motorcycling at the moment is one of the ACU’s priorities and it is determined to do its utmost to ensure new talent is brought in no matter what obstacles are put in the way.
Dave Luscombe, ACU’s Business Development Manger said: “We are well aware that money is tight for everyone at the moment and we also know that motorcycle sport isn’t a cheap option. With all of that in mind the ACU has reduced the cost of the Training Permit for Road Race Clubs, and we hope our Clubs will take full advantage of this opportunity.”
