Rob Hoyles competed in his first season of road racing in 2006, having left the nine-to-five life to work for himself as a freelance motorcycle journalist and sports writer.
Determined to try his hand at road racing, Rob invested his time and money into a series of articles published in Motorcycle Racer Magazine, with the brief being a simple one: to first turn a tired track bike into a potential race winner and to then find out as much about racing in the UK as possible by competing at different clubs, giving the reader an insight into what it’s like from a newcomer’s viewpoint.
Ultimately Rob’s aim is to compete in the prestigious, televised British Supersport Championship and, budget permitting will either ride as a ‘wild card’ in selected rounds or, given the opportunity, compete full time in the championship.
