Originally called Ty Croes, the Anglesey racing circuit arose out of a fertile conversation between car racer Richard Peacock and Michael Douglas, manager of the Bodorgan Estate. The estate has owned the land on which the circuit now stands for centuries, temporarily selling it to the Army in 1941 for the development of a rocket launching site. It re-acquired the land, complete with it’s elaborate network of military roads which, with a little imagination, formed the basis for the current race circuit. However, all of this changed in 2007 as the circuit was rebuilt and redeveloped. The remodelled circuit should help to bring Anglesey back into line with other circuits. The circuit has four layouts from the Club Circuit (0.8 miles), National Circuit (1.2 miles), Coastal Circuit (1.55 miles) to the full International Circuit (2.1 miles).
